Recording Session!

WOW, too much fun, I know I’m such a nerd, but whatever!

I just spent the last hour and a half recording a six part trumpet choir piece called “Prelude and Fugue for Trumpet Choir”. This piece was written by Eric Ewazen in 2000 for the 25th anniversary of the International Trumpet Guild. It’s a great, difficult, but FUN piece and I loved every second of recording this.

I think this will be my project of the semester. I’d like to record a CD of trumpet ensemble music … by myself. It’s a great process … record all of the parts one at a time, then go back and re-record all of them over and over and over …. adjusting tuning and dynamics and such each time. It’s great to hear the “ensemble” develop and change throughout the session. It’s a great start, but there’s a long way to go with this piece, the end needs a lot of work (listen closely for the click track!) WORK IN PROGRESS!

My album will be called: “MLG, when one just isn’t enough!” or something like that!

Anyways, here it is:
