DOR 6 *43 miles*

Ok, so I’m a day behind in making my blog post…..   Today was a rest day and tomorrow is 80 miles!  So, I’ll write a bit and then go to bed!

43 miles was supposed to be easy…. but it was rolling hills will a hell of a climb at the end of the day.  Nothing too bad, I’m learning that I’m a pretty strong rider and have handled everything the route has thrown at me so far.

Skully and I hit the road fast!  We were using the momentum of the downhills to throw us over the uphills.  It was pretty fun.  The rest of the group wasn’t far behind us.

This is the route we are taking most of the way.  76…. we have these really complicated maps with all the turns but most of the time we just look for signs to follow the 76 and the bike.

The top of every hill calls for celebration and this was the big hill of the day.  Three miles of steep climbing.  Boom, killed it!

After the ride, a local pub had free wings and beer for us.  And, a local church let us crash in their building for two nights. Two nights?  You may ask…  yes, today was a rest day!

Last night, Kip and Debbie and I went to the grocery store to get some food to make dinner. There was a grill here so I picked up some flank steak, Kip got a flat iron and Debbie got some wine.  I recommended Cline’s Cashmere and it was a hit.  It always is!  Food was delish.  We got some veggies grilled up and ate like kings and queens.

Today’s rest day meant laundry and a service project in the community.   So we did some yard work at a lady’s house and then went to a local brewery for delicious food and great beer.  Also, free.  🙂

Tonight was probably my favorite meal of the trip so far.

Finally, we had a crazy campfire going at the farm so we hung out for a bit before heading back to our home at the church.
