Basic meals on the cheap!

Eat cheap!  These are simple meals to make, feed up to 5 people and don’t cost a lot of money.   For me, I am one — so I can make a lot, freeze some and have a freezer full of basic meals.  So, I use the word basic because this is very plain.  You can jazz these up and add all sorts of great things.  Also, this list doesn’t contain the staples so don’t consider this a complete ingredient list.  Just a starting point.

Dan Dan Noodles!

Dan Dan noodles is my current favorite frugal meal. (Someone will correct my inauthentic American Dan Dan, but here it goes)

Make the cheapest spaghetti / egg noodles you can find. Get a quarter cup of the boiling noodle water and add a enough peanut butter and soy sauce to make a thin sauce. Top off the noodles with chopped peanuts and minced garlic. It warms the soul and the peanut fats will keep you full longer than spaghetti sauce.
